Charlize Theron and Alex Dimitrijevic are enjoying a flourishing relationship, with her friends fully supportive of their romance, according to a source who spoke exclusively to Us Weekly. The insider mentioned, “Charlize and Alex are more in love than ever,” emphasizing that “their energies very much match.”
Since sparking dating rumors in January, Theron, 48, and Dimitrijevic have found plenty of common interests. “Alex is a warm and funny guy; he’s supportive, and they share a lot of the same hobbies, like hiking, reading, and watching TV at home,” the source shared.
Dimitrijevic has received the endorsement of Theron’s close friends. The insider added, “Charlize’s friends appreciate that, unlike some of her past relationships, this one feels effortless.” They believe that this couple is committed for the long term.
Us Weekly confirmed in May that Theron and Dimitrijevic had been “dating for a few months” after meeting at an event. At that time, the relationship was still in its “early stages,” but the insider noted that Theron and the Undrtone Sport cofounder “really like each other.” Dimitrijevic’s laid-back personality is something Theron enjoys, the source noted.
In the same month, Theron appeared to validate their relationship when she was photographed holding hands with Dimitrijevic during a lunch date in Los Angeles.
Before Dimitrijevic, Theron was briefly linked to Gabriel Aubry in 2022. A source described their relationship that May as “very casual and enjoying each other,” adding that it was “nothing serious.”
Theron’s romantic history includes a relationship with Sean Penn, which ended in June 2015 after nearly two years, as well as a long-term relationship with Stuart Townsend. Theron and Townsend, 50, parted ways in 2010 after nearly a decade together.
In September 2020, the Oscar-winning actress expressed contentment with her single status. Instead of focusing on dating, Theron stated that she was happy raising her daughters, Jackson and August, whom she adopted in 2012 and 2015, respectively.
“I’m open when friends suggest I should go on a date or meet someone,” Theron shared during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show.
She revealed that she hadn’t “dated anybody” in more than five years, explaining, “But I feel like I’m in a place in my life where you’ve got to come with a lot of game… My life is really good, so you better be able to bring that and maybe better. Because I just won’t accept anything less.”
She also added, “I can honestly say this in my life: I don’t feel lonely. Once I had my children, it’s not that it replaces something or makes you less interested in romance.
It’s a lot of work to be a parent, and at the end of the day, I get in bed and think, ‘Oh, my God, I wouldn’t want this day to be anything different.’”
