Together for over 12 years, Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky have weathered ups and downs, yet their bond remains as strong as ever.

How Did Chris and Elsa Meet?
In 2010, a talent agent facilitated the introduction between the actor and the Spanish actress/model.
Just a few months later, they publicly confirmed their relationship by attending the Resnick Pavilion opening gala at the Los Angeles Museum of Art. Reflecting on their immediate connection, Chris shared with Elle in 2015, “There was no light bulb moment.
From the first time we met, we just made sense. She’s fun, outgoing, and has a wonderful sense of humor, along with a passionate approach to life, which is refreshing.”
Following that initial meeting, their romance blossomed rapidly, leading to the decision to marry after just three months of dating.
When Did the Couple Get Married?
On December 26, 2010, during a family vacation on Sumba Island in Indonesia, the couple exchanged vows in an impromptu ceremony.
Discussing their spur-of-the-moment decision on Good Morning Britain in 2016, Chris remarked, “It did happen quick, and it just felt right. There wasn’t a grand plan; we were on holiday and thought, ‘Why not get married too?’ Then it just happened.”

He humorously acknowledged the lack of planning, explaining that both families happened to be on vacation together, presenting a perfect opportunity for the wedding.
Since their marriage, Chris and Elsa have balanced family life with their professional commitments. Elsa expressed her views on maintaining this balance in Body+Soul magazine in 2020, stating, “I love acting, but balance is essential to me. If a project allows me to work close to home, I’m more than happy to do it.”
The couple has enjoyed working together, with their collaboration on Horse Soldiers in 2017 described by Chris as “fantastic.” He recalled, “It felt like a little holiday because the kids stayed in L.A., and Elsa and I got to go to Albuquerque for a week to work and hang out together.”
In an interview with HOLA!, Elsa reflected on their marriage, noting, “Marriages require a lot of time and work. They’re built little by little from beautiful moments and more challenging ones. I’ve learned a lot – to be less stubborn, to calm down, and to understand my husband better.”
How Many Kids Do the Couple Have?
Chris and Elsa are proud parents of three children: 11-year-old daughter India Rose and ten-year-old twin boys, Tristan and Sasha.
They often share snippets of their family life on social media. In March 2023, they encountered some backlash after posting a video where Elsa playfully smashed one of the twins’ faces into his birthday cake.

I want them to value their fortune and be generous with those who are less fortunate.” The children have also embraced a quintessential Australian pastime: surfing.
Elsa humorously noted, “The first thing the kids do when they wake up is check for waves. If there are any, they grab their boards and head out to surf with their dad before school.”
