Noah Schnapp’s relationship status has piqued the curiosity of fans, particularly after his heartfelt announcement about his sexuality. The Stranger Things star publicly came out as gay in a TikTok video on January 5, 2023, receiving overwhelming support from his audience.
In the video, Noah shared a message that read, “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘we know.’”

While lip-syncing to an audio clip from another TikTok, he humorously echoed the sentiment, “You know what it never was? That serious. It was never that serious. Quite frankly, will never be that serious.”
In the post’s caption, Noah added, “I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought,” referencing his Stranger Things character Will Byers.
During an interview with Variety in July 2022, Noah confirmed Will’s sexuality, stating, “Now it’s 100% clear that he is gay and he does love Mike [Wheeler],” following the show’s fourth season premiere.
After his announcement, his co-star Finn Wolfhard expressed pride in Noah’s bravery. Speaking with GQ Magazine in February 2023, Finn shared, “When I saw it, I just had a big smile on my face.
I was just really proud of him.” Noah later emphasized during an August 2023 interview with Variety that he wanted his coming out to feel natural and casual.
In February 2023, Noah also revealed a supportive message from his grandfather in a TikTok post. “I just want you to know that I love you the same and I’m happy for you to be open and to be yourself,” his grandfather wrote. “Just be proud of who and what you are. Iris and I are supportive of your honesty and ability to express your true self! Love you to the moon and back.”

Although Noah has not confirmed being in a relationship, he shares strong bonds with his Stranger Things co-stars, particularly Millie Bobby Brown.
Discussing his friendship with Millie, Noah told Extra in May 2022, “To get to work with Millie, it’s been such a blast. She’s so talented and just working off of her is amazing. I learn so much with her, so great ride.”
Reflecting on their shared experiences, he added, “It’s been fun, off set just to be together and play that because prior to that [season 4], we never really had many scenes or chances to work together. That was the first time we really got to be alongside each other, and it was great.”
